Online Discourse in the Arab World: Dispelling the Myths
The US Institute of Peace, in collaboration with the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet & Society, held an event entitled " Online Discourse in the Arab World: Dispelling the Myths" on June 17, 2009. The video of this event is now available.
A related report from the Berkman Center entitled " Mapping the Arabic Blogosphere: Politics, Culture, and Dissent" might also be of interest. The Internet & Democracy Project is investigating the "impact of the Internet on civic engagement and democratic processes." They also did some work on "Mapping Change in the Iranian Blogosphere" earlier this year.
